H-ITT System Features
H-ITT's two way high speed system is an excellent choice for educators and students. Here's why:
-
Instant Assessment: -
Students respond instantly to questions in the class with their remote units.
The software quickly records the responses and presents the results in the form of a histogram. Each remote has a unique ID number allowing the instructor to know how each student responded to every question. This method of instant electronic assessment has been around for over 30 years and proven to be an extremely beneficial component to any classroom. H-ITT brings it to you in a simple low-cost and attractive form.
-
Infra-Red (IR) or Radio Frequency (RF) H-ITT offers both these technologies in a compact and convenient form allowing end users to choose the system that is best for them. Both systems offer high speed and robust data integrity ideal for a class room setting. To the end user, the use of either system is near identical. The software is the same, the remotes have the same number of buttons, and both technologies can be utilized at the same time in one classroom. However, some differences exist and interested users are encouraged to learn more about the differences and similarities of the IR and RF systems.
-
High Speed: Both the IR and RF system are fast.
The RF system can record up to 1000 responses in 1 second. The IR system can record up to 100 responses in 1 second, which can be increased by adding extra base units to the classroom. This is significant and important and minimizes the use of class time making the H-ITT system even easier to use. Note that the IR system uses fast responding infra red technology that is 10 times faster than conventional IR remotes and other IR audience response systems.
-
Two Way: The H-ITT systems uses a patent pending two-way infra red (IR) and radio frequency (RF) communication system. The remote indicates to the student if their response has been successfully collected. This eliminates the need for the instructors computer to provide feedback to the audience that their response has been collected.
-
Free Software for Windows, Mac, and Linux: The H-ITT CRS software is free and can run on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux operating systems. This allows instructors to work on their current operating system. The operating system does not affect the look, or operation of the H-ITT software. This cross platform consistency simplifies deployment across the heterogeneous OS landscape that exists at most institutions of higher learning and minimizes training and support costs for IT departments.
-
Instant Grading: H-ITT provides software that instantly grades the responses and exports them into any spreadsheet such as Excel or WebCT or Blackboard.
-
Book Publishers: H-ITT has alliances with several book publishers that offer deals which reduce the cost of the H-ITT system for both the instructor and student when used with a textbook.
-
Open Architecture: The H-ITT system has been designed with an open architecture. Class response data is saved in industry standard XML format. This allows instructors to develop their own grading software if desired.
-
Software Development Kit: Customers and independent software vendors can write their own software that uses the H-ITT system with the freely available software development kit. This SDK supports Windows, Mac, and Linux and the following popular programming languages C, C++, Visual Basic, and Java. This allows seamless integration of H-ITT's hardware with any application.
-
Third Party Software: Due to the great features and popularity of the H-ITT system several independent companies now provide their own software for use with the H-ITT system.
