H-ITT releases new version of their free cross platform software for their classroom response system.

Hyper-Interactive Teaching Technology (H-ITT), a leader in hand-held remote technology for the classroom, today announced the release of version 1.8 of their Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux software for use with their classroom response system.

Numerous new features and enhancements have been added to both the Acquisition program which collects responses from the students in class and the Analyzer which grades the responses after class. Some of the most significant features are:

  • Toolbar mode which allows the user to collapse the Acquisition window into a single toolbar that can be used with any presentation program such as Power Point or Acrobat on any platform: Windows, Mac, or Linux. This feature is possible with H-ITT's two way remotes since the remotes indicate the response has been successfully recorded.
  • The ability to record student's confidence level on how sure they are of their answer and then later use this information in the Analyzer for grading purposes.
  • Roster editor - spreadsheet interface for creating and editing roster
Numerous other feature and speed improvements are included as well. H-ITT develops their software using C++ and the popular open-source wxWidgets (www.wxWidgets.org) C++ library. This library allows H-ITT's software development team to target multiple platforms from one code base. In addition, utilizing wxWidgets allows the applications to have the native look-and-feel of their respective operating systems.

"Customer feedback has been one of the major drivers in the new features in 1.8. We enjoy getting creative ideas for feature enhancements from our customers. Our goal is to keep H-ITT ahead of the curve for audience response system software." Says Larry, head of H-ITT's application development team.
