H-ITT allows developers to integrate and innovate on the Mac OSX platform
May 6, 2004: H-ITT releases SDK for Mac OSX
Hyper-Interactive Teaching Technology (H-ITT), a leader in hand-held remote technology for the classroom, today released a software development kit (SDK) for the Mac OSX operating system. The SDK is free to use for both non-profit and for-profit entities. It allows vendors to integrate their solution with H-ITT's hardware on Apple Macintosh computers running the OSX operating system. This event makes H-ITT the first remote company to offer a SDK for the Macintosh platform. This is H-ITT's first phase of its cross platform initiative which will result in software for Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems.
There are hundreds of schools across the globe utilizing H-ITT that can benefit from custom solutions. The SDK is H-ITT's initial steps in opening up its architecture to interested parties. The simple API allows clients and independent software vendors to build and launch their own applications. They can create entirely new functionality for existing H-ITT customers, and seamlessly integrate H-ITT into third-party applications. In addition, it allows H-ITT's customers an important opportunity to innovate.
The foundation of H-ITT is both its low-cost hand held device that enables students to respond electronically to questions or quizzes provided by professors in the classroom, and its powerful and free software that enables the students and instructors to maximize the potential of the technology. Student feedback can be viewed in real-time allowing instructors to adjust their teaching methodology based on the level of comprehension. The software automatically grades the responses and even e-mails the students their results after each class period.
